How can I address the perplexing situation of being incorrectly marked as deceased on my credit reports from Experian and TransUnion? The denial of a credit card application due to this error has raised concerns. Can someone provide guidance on the steps to rectify this issue, and is it advisable to hire a professional attorney, or are there effective measures I can take independently to correct this misinformation on my credit report?

Every application I try to fill out says that I have passed away. I also got a letter informing me that my application for a credit card was denied. "The credit report retrieved indicated that the applicant is deceased," the denial letter said. I looked through my reports, and this label is on the Experian and TransUnion ones. How do I go about getting rid of it? Can anybody explain to me why my credit report says falsely reported as deceased and what can I do to get the information corrected? Should I hire a professional attorney or I can do it myself?
