Thank you so much for putting this site together. I haven’t run across anything to do with changing the password. or unlocking QuickBooks. Because I’ve been forced to reinstall Quickbooks every year, and it never automaticaly back up my user / company password, it’s not much trouble to me to change the user password each year. I just need to know how to change the password. I am using Quickbooks 2015 Pro.

I have been using QuickBooks for over 20 years and have had this problem with every upgrade since the company I work for went online with QB. The people at Intuit are not helpful at all. I emailed them and they sent me an email saying they had sent me a copy of the new code and to go to the link they sent me on their web page to download the new version. I did, downloaded it and took it to my desktop. I then went to the “Help” menu and clicked on “Enter Serial Number”. I entered the code and it said “validation code already received”. I then clicked on “OK” and it said “input the current/old serial number”
I had bought QB on the day that the free version of 2017 was made available and I was trying to upgrade to 2015 as my accountant was advising me to do so for compliance reasons.I did it over the internet and got the code to work. It was very easy and I am now using it to get my tax done for the end of year.
I have been a QB user for over 20 years and have been using it since version 1.0 so I was a bit shocked that I was not able to find any information on how to retrieve the serial key for this version. I have tried everything from searching google, and spending hours going through the forums and the book but nothing worked. I was not able to find anything. I am over 60 and never had problems. The reason I bought it was to free up some of my time to do my own thing. Now when I need it I cant get it. 827ec27edc
